MEC Successful Seat Allocation Paves the Way for Future Healthcare Professionals
In a noteworthy advancement for prospective medical and dental students nationwide, the highly regarded Medical Education Commission has successfully completed its thorough allocation of college seats. This allocation establishes a solid foundation for students to pursue their preferred medical and dental programs, creating a supportive atmosphere for education and professional development in the field of medicine.
For MBBS aspirants, a total of 1,925 seats have been distributed across various reputable colleges, ensuring a wide range of choices. Prominent institutes such as Birat Medical College, BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, and Kathmandu Medical College, among others, have each been allocated 100 seats, making them significant contributors to medical education.
Patan Academy of Health Science (PAHS) stands out with an allocation of 65 MBBS seats, while Devdah Medical College offers an additional 60 seats. Janaki Medical College and Karnali Academy of Health Science (KAHS) enrich the array of choices with 50 seats each.
For dental aspirants pursuing BDS, the Commission has ensured a reliable assortment of institutions. BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Kantipur Dental College, KU School of Medical Sciences, People’s Dental College, and Universal Medical College offer 50 seats each. Additionally, Chitwan Medical College, College of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu Medical College, and Nepal Medical College contribute to dental education with 40 BDS seats each.
Vice Professor Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, a representative from the commission, provided detailed insights into the seat allocations, allowing prospective students to plan their academic journey with precision and clarity.
