In a noteworthy advancement, Madhesh University has revealed the initiation of the admission process for the law and public administration faculties beginning in August 2023. The University Registrar, Vijay Kumar Yadav, conveyed that the BA, LLB, and Public Administration courses are scheduled to commence in October.

Founded on September 7, 2022, Madhesh University has displayed a proactive approach in securing land to facilitate its growth. It has successfully obtained a combined area of 78 Bigha in Parsa, encompassing Bahudarmai Municipality-2, Pokharia Municipality, and Pakahan Mainpur Rural Municipality, to establish essential infrastructure.

The university’s vision revolves around establishing the Madhes province as a focal point for technical education. It will specialize in diverse fields such as polytechnic studies, information technology, management, paramedical sciences, agricultural engineering, and various other technical disciplines.

Through the enforcement of the University Organization, Educational, and Administration Regulations of 2079 BS (2022 AD), the university adheres to a well-defined governance structure. Similarly, the Financial Administration Regulations introduced in the same year ensure openness and accountability in financial affairs.

The curriculum for the recently established faculties has been carefully formulated by the curriculum development committee, working collaboratively with the expert team from Kathmandu University. The procedures and standards for student admissions have received the endorsement of the Academic Council, facilitating a smooth shift into this fresh academic endeavor.

Registrar Yadav mentioned, “We will initiate the admission process officially within a short span, pending approval from the Nepal Bar Council.” He also verified that instruction for both faculties will commence in October.

Apart from the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, the university maintains a small workforce consisting of three administrators and four office assistants. The university has the flexibility to hire additional personnel as required.

Registrar Yadav conveyed the university’s aspiration to establish its main campus by gathering contributions from different embassies, the National Planning Commission, government ministries, and other benefactors. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been developed to outline the specifics of this extensive initiative.

The establishment of the law and public administration faculties signifies a fresh phase in Madhes province’s educational panorama. With robust regulations, well-thought-out strategies, and partnerships with industry professionals, Madhesh University is positioned to emerge as a prominent establishment in the area.
